2011年12月23日，港口部落還我土地抗爭「封冰箱」，抗議花蓮縣豐濱鄉公所遺失居民土地登錄資料，國家將祖耕地強佔，再轉交東部海岸國家風景區管理處開發使用。這種侵害人民土地，政府失職違法情事，長達20多年不聞不問，居民憤怒合法申請上街抗爭，竟然遭警方以集會遊行法通知偵辦。

On December 23, 2011, the Makotaay Close Off Our Land protest was held in response to the Fengbin Township government losing the land registration documents of locals. The national government planned to take over our ancestral farmland and then hand it over to the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration to develop it into Shitiping Recreation Area. This infringement on people’s land and negligent, illegal conduct by the government continued for over 20 years and was completely ignored by the authorities. Outraged, the locals carried out a legal protest only to be notified by the police that an investigation was taking place regarding their possible violation of the Assembly and Parade Act!
